Regional Industry 4.0 Consortium Discussion

We’re gathering a group of advanced manufacturers, tech companies and industry partners to discuss building a regional coalition of manufacturers to collaborate with the national labs, universities and commercial R&D organizations to do agile development and testing of advanced manufacturing technologies on the manufacturing floor - rather than in isolated labs.  The Federal Government spends billions on R&D efforts through the national labs, the SBIR|STTR programs and various grants.  However, commercialization of federally funded R&D is lagging.  Our hypothesis is that the Government can increase the commercialization rate of funded R&D and compress the mean time between innovation and commercialization if the technology is developed and tested on the factory floor in iterative agile sprints with live feedback from commercial industry (consortium of advanced manufacturers).

Contact Dave Temeles if you are interested in joining the conversation.
